Today more than ever, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals are an essential resource. From budgeting, to planning for retirement, to saving for education, to managing your taxes and your insurance coverage, “finances” doesn’t mean just one thing for most Americans—and “financial planning” means much more than just investing. Bringing all the pieces of your financial life together is a challenging task. Although many professionals may call themselves “financial planners,” as a CFP® professional I have completed extensive training and experience requirements and are held to rigorous ethical standards. I understand the complexities of your changing financial climate and will make recommendations in your best interest.
Everyone has different goals, so it’s essential to have a unique financial plan that is prioritized for you and your situation, both now and in the future. Financial planning takes the guesswork out of managing your finances and helps you understand the implications of each financial decision you make.
Be specific with your financial goals
Once you've identified your goals, make them specific and measurable. It is not enough to just say, “I want to have an emergency fund”. How much money do you need in your emergency fund, and how long will it take you to build it up?
You might be wondering: Where are you today? Do you know where all your money is and what it’s doing? What documents do you need to keep or create? The first step in planning is getting organized.
And Stay Organized
Once you've put in the work to get organized, keep it that way. The only way to know if you're reaching your goals is to monitor your progress.
Unleashed Financial provides year-round financial planning included in the investment management fee. This includes a financial goal plan, annual updates, and ongoing financial planning support.
